Having lived in England for 7 years and being from Scotland I dont think you'll get "started on" but it helps as a conversation starter.

I would say there is more of an anti English sentiment among small circles in scotland, that I haven't seen reflected in England.

In student circles, there will be absolutely no issues being from England. There may be banter that you're immediately "posh" if you're a southerner though! 😂. But all light hearted fun.

There are loads of great places in Glasgow and generally the people are incredibly helpful /friendly.

Edit: if you're going to Glasgow uni there's definitely going to be zero issues. (source : graduate)
