Comment	Just bought a flat in Kilsyth which is just over 20mins outside of central. My total costs for mortgage/energy/council tax/insurance is just under £600. Renting is more expensive obviously but you should be fine. A one bedroom flat in or around central is probably in your budget tbh. Edit: house -> flat.
