Yes. Consider living just outside Glasgow, Paisley for example. 1 train stop to Glasgow central, rent is a bit cheaper (could probably knock a couple hundred off that), bills sounds about right, transport may work out a bit cheaper if you buy a train pass for 6 months or a year. Good luck!
