Irish here also! Derry woman and Longford man living southside Glasgow. My boyfriend did part of it there a month or so ago. He said it was grand but he said the best advice he could give anyone is obviously pack as light as you can. And he wrapped his feet to stop blisters. Midgies are an absolute shit show. Way worse than anything I have experienced anywhere in ireland and we camped all over Ireland. Get the smidge spray and buy yourself one of the face/head nets and they are life savers. X
