Shi + yu would be 'Shiyu' but you'll be talking about the small yu. Rather than parts being silent - Japanese doesn't have silent letters the same way we do - it would be more accurate to call it a modifier which replaces the original letter's vowel sound with its own, so simply the i becomes u.

Also (if you want to be super correct) it's Nakamura Shunsuke as in Japan surname comes first.
