A friend of mine used to rent in Dumbarton just next to the school. Nightlife (pre Covid) was alright ish, mid size town vibes. Good transport links to Glasgow and Helensburgh. Would definitely recommend sticking in glasgow though, Loch Lomonds still only 40 ish mins on the train ðŸ¤
