I think the belief that I've seen on r/Glasgow of "southern England" /londoners inflating the Glasgow housing market has been significantly inflated. Seen it posted on this thread and a couple others.
I think generally flats are much easier to get than houses. Pent up demand and people wanting garden space has fueled the fire for gardens/houses.
