I will start with a few ideas. I live in the west end so a lot of my choices are biased to where in the city I live. The west end is where Glasgow University is so you can look on a map.

Museums, we have. Lot and almost every one is free! Personally I like Kelvingrove, the huntarien, The Riverside but we have lots and they range from the old to the modern.

Next up, our Parks in Glasgow are worth a visit. Glasgow is sometimes referred to as The Dear Green Place because of the Novel by archie hind and its parks (read the novel if you get a chance).

A few parks to visit are, Kelvingrove, botanical Gardens, pollock Park, Bellahouston (burrell collection Charles rennie macintosh) and Alexandra Park.

Pubs. In Scotland we love our pubs and I guess depending on your age, taste in music, sport, type of drink then people could recommend many different establishments to go to. At least go to Ashton Lane a small street of bars and a boutique cinema.

Other things you might miss if you did not know. SWG3 is a large indoor and outdoor events place. Everything from graphite exhibits and outdoor food events to full on 5am night clubs. If its back on even I recommend you try (with a group) Bongos Bingo!

Look up Charles Rennie Macintosh, the lighthouse, the science centre, the Universitys but for a tour I would say Glasgow Uni, the necropolis (we have a few but the one next to the centre), Buchanan St for shopping (princess Square you could walk past and miss).

There is loads I have missed but also remember we are a 40 minute train ride to Loch lomond one way and Edinburgh (Scotlands capita) the other. The thing about Edinburgh is you need to visit, it's got a castle right in the city centre! But it's completely different city from Glasgow.

Lastly, welcome! We are a mostly friendly bunch and don't be surprised if strangers just speak to you when they hear your accent. And don't worry about asking for help and directions, most people will be great.
