I can pick out tap water vs bottled water in a blind test by smell alone - so it's easy to imagine people being put off by taste. Note, the water here, according to that table has up to 1.4mg/l disinfectant. That's where the smell/taste of chlorine is coming from. To most it's undetectable, but not all.
