If you cant get lifts at both ends it's an absolute nightmare and way more hassle than just getting on a bus, putting in your earphones and putting on a mask.
At least with the bus you're in Buchanan bus station at one end and Victoria at the other, where it's dead easy to get trains and bus connections.
