They will lift it as long as it fits the hopper. As long as it looks the same (ish) as other bins they'll lift it. You can bring your bin with you from outside the authority and since you own your bin they don't get a say over where you buy it from. The only exception will be if you buy a 360l instead of a 250l - they've been largely phased out.
Defo keep on at the council though. It's been a while since i worked for an LA but the bins all used to be manufactured in Germany and imported. If there was an issue it became impossible to get them. I'd hazard a guess that brexit is causing problems if this is still the case. |
