This is the only bit you can get lost at. When in Dumbarton it takes you along side the railway station, through a few bends and ultimately across the river and down onto a cycle path. Just keep watching the cycle route signs and you should be fine. When you cross the river look for the path to your right before you get to Dalreoch Station.
