I'm up for debates and challenging other's beliefs especially if it's false. Because the truth is important.
I disagree with a lot of religions beliefs, I disagree with atheists. But it's important to keep it civilised, and not cause unnecessary offence. When something is wrong there is no point making ad hominem attacks,it distracts from the discussion.
I'm a Muslim, and for years we have had to defend our beliefs from false distortion, whether it's lies, or verses out of historical context etc. We don't mind given a fair forum and there is no insults hurled. Since an early age from my secular education in school or my home upbringing we are taught not to offend people unnecessarily.
Here is a Christian building going on fire and people are cracking jokes, at the expense of the congregations expense.
If this was a synagogue I'm sure you would think twice!
Fairy Tales
Ps When explaining how life began even the scientist can only explain it with fairy tales. Lightning striking water and somehow creating 3 billion pair dna code! You even seen a single cell? It's complicated. Dna code has to be created, error checked stored and then replicated. No one knows the truth, but the "science" at the moment can't answer that question sufficiently.
