Tenement flats in particular are going wildly over at the moment. We bought a couple months ago and we’re lucky to buy one in Cathcart.

This is some of the previous bids.

Property one: Battlefield, offers over £99k, HR £100k. My offer 118k sold for over £135k. (Required major renovation including rewrire, central heating, bathroom, kitchen and windows).

Property two: Cathcart, offers over £90k, HR £100k. My Offer £119.5k sold for £130k+ (Required few walls moved, rewire or new consumer unit, new bathroom and kitchen.

Property there: Paisley, offers over £114k, HR £120k. My offer £131k sold for £138.5k (fully renovated to a high standard).

I would never put an early bid in - my solicitor advised against this. They will take your offer but not reply until after closing and you offer may be hinted at to other bidders. Speak to a solicitor about this.
