I agree with this Brutti Compadres is a great place. It’s in Merchant City which is only 5 mins walk from the station. You could walk another 10 mins to the Necropolis which has views right across the city. It’s right next to the Cathedral and not far from Glasgow Green or Drygate Brewery - if it’s a nice day this would be a good few hours well spent.

I think both stations (Central and Queen street - both close to each other) have luggage storage, if you don’t fancy lugging your bags about.

If you head west, Finnieston has some great restaurants - can’t really go wrong with any of them but Rioja, The Finnieston and Kelvingrove Cafe are all great. Kelvingrove Park is right there, or if the weather is bad, Kelvingrove museum and the Transport museum are free to get in, but I think you might need to book a slot at the moment. The transport museum is a bit further out but walkable.

You can get the underground from Buchanan Street or St Enochs to Kelvinbridge and walk through the park to get to Finnieston.
