Was just about to hop on a bus at Buchanan Bus Station when I grabbed a paper at the Metro stand (not realising it was Sunday, so of course there should be no Metro papers).

On the bus I realised that I hadn't picked up a Metro but a copy of "the Light," a supposedly people funded newspaper.

"Oh cool," the sweet summer child I am thought naively, "A community funded newspaper. How grand!"

Nope. Nope. And Nope.

It's is rampant Covid Misinformation Paper-ganda.

My guess is it's ultimate aim is to undermine public trust in our public institutions, using alt-right tactics to sow the seeds of doubt, in this instance, via the medium of Covid Misinformation and Vaccine Scepticism.

I phoned the station and got through to one of the fellas there. The guy sounded genuinely surprised and thanked me sincerely for drawing attention to the issue. He told me he'd send security to remove them straight away.

But this is issue 12. And presumably if a stash of them have been left in Buchanan Bus Station they must be elsewhere.

C2A: If other redditors are aware of this issue, we can keep this trash out of other stations in Glasgow and help keep this brazen misinformation from being so easily spread and distributed.

Vigilance is the price we must pay if we wish to live in a society where propaganda and misinformation are thwarted from spreading fear and mistrust in the name of "Truth"
