| Comment | You'd think it's hard to hire binmen but it's really not. There are hundreds of agency workers drafted into the clenny who put in a graft and are kept dangling on a hook (sometimes for a number of years) when they ask about a full time job, the majority of which are indiscriminately let go.
Source: Agency worker binman for 1.5 years who is lucky enough to be one of only two agency boys who have avoided the cull of others on shift who started before and after us, but yearns for a contract and a bit of stability and financial security.
Edit: you may be right in that the council are fucking around with budgets so much that they have 'hire more binmen' at the bottom of their list, but the bodies are there for the job. |
