Thistle support is a strange beast.
A large part are Maryhill born and bred support your local team guys.
Then you have the west end stereotype / Bearsden and Jordanhill Middle Class guys.
Students will come and go - you notice it it you’re unfortunate enough to be a third generation season ticket holder (thanks Dad).
Around the west end and the uni a lot of people will say they’re Thistle fans to avoid conflict or appear more Bohemian. If these people actually went to games we’d sell out every week..
Having said that though Thistle are still well supported in Scottish terms. Away from home in particular we carry multiple thousand fans for big games. |
