You'll be grand! You might possibly be overthinking this. It's Glasgow, not the Sentinel Islands. You'll even find some other Americans who live here, as well as people from loads of other countries from around the world too. It's a great place to live and I'm sure you'll love it, though you might find it a bit colder and wetter than you're used to. Bring layers. :)
