But the white knuckle days, they're the ones that show you who you really are. When we're numbing out with drugs or alcohol or gambling or whatever we're choosing short term gain with long term pain. Making that decision to quit is also the choice for short term pain and long term gain. I have been reliably informed by those who have never done drugs or alcohol to the extent I thought they were supposed to be done, that this is known as "adulting". |
