They are not uniform or factored. The home owners have all put them in over time and there are still a few who don't have a space of you look further up.
The deeds on the houses are not conclusive on if the house does own the spaces but the council don't stop people paving them. The council don't do any maintenance on the areas either and leaves residents to maintain the grass.
Currently there is a consultation looking at introducing parking restrictions in Broomhill and that includes Churchill Drive. A group of residents lead by Broomhill residents association have asked for clarification from the city Council neighbourhood and sustainability department on the 'hard standing'. The concern they have is parking bays could be introduced on the road over the drive ways.
The exception are end terraced houses who have driveways right up to the house.
One thing of note is the painted white lines indicating no parking are only on the driveways of the end terrace houses and not the mid terrace ones. |
