It might be a 1/4 mile but I’ve not been in a taxi or blackcab in years so I can’t remember. I firmly remember being told by many a glaswegian including my father that there was some restrictions.
People would just walk 100m away and try and get a taxi before it gets to the rank. there’s got to be some
Restrictions or else the queue would just keep moving further away from the rank.
