| Comment | Kinda off topic but my Dad used to tell me this story from when he was in the Merchant Navy, it was the early 80s and his ship stopped in Greenock and they went in the first pub they found. After a few pints they tried to enter the pub across the street, only to be told they couldn't come in because they'd just been in the Celtic pub and this was the Rangers pub (may have been the other way around, this ws 40 years ago and my dad was pissed at the time). Apparently they weren't unkind about it, more of a "If you come in here we'll have to pick your teeth out of the furniture and nobody wants that" warning, so they just went back to the first pub and stayed there all night. |
