I am not sure about Gyms in the Southside sorry. But I would recommend starting going runs/walks in the meantime as well as doing bodyweight exercises from home.

Couch to 5K is a great training regime that will take you from complete beginner and get you to a stage where you can run 5k non stop. https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/couch-to-5k-week-by-week/

Also on top of that in terms of losing weight. You need to be in a caloric deficit to lose weigh meaning you need to be burning more calories than you eat each day.

[https://tdeecalculator.net/](https://tdeecalculator.net/) \- This calculator will help estimate how much calories you burn each day. The more exercise you do, the more calories you will burn. Work out how much you burn, and then make sure you are eating LESS than that by tracking what you eat using an app like MyFitnessPal [https://www.myfitnesspal.com/](https://www.myfitnesspal.com/)

All of this might seem overwhelming at first, but once you get into the swing of it you will love it mate. Reason I posted this is because alot of people join a gym, break a sweat, go home and "eat healthy" but see no results or results plateau because they either aren't following a program where they increase intensity (like C25K) or don't have their calories dialled in.

Also since you said money could be tight, all this stuff I added above is essentially what a PT would do for you. You can do it for free with these websites
