Have a look at Partick and Thornwood. The transport links are brilliant.
They have a bus station, underground and low level train all in the same place. From there you can get to Loch lomond, Edinburgh, both central and Queen St on the train. It's also got a morrisons and Aldi as well.
10 minutes walk from Byers Rd for pubs and restaurants.
