Agree. I grew up in Dumbarton. It's has become a very affordable commuter town. Dumbarton to Glasgow on the train is only 20 minutes. It has some social issues, however its surrounded by lovely hills, is only 20 minutes from Loch Lomond, and has always felt safe to me. Just don't expect any culture.
