I have lived here my whole life and am clearly an adult man, I know what a friendly greeting is and isn’t. And which greetings are used to be respectful and which are used diminutively.


If a stranger called me doll / hen / pet and they weren’t an old woman. They would be getting told ‘Who do you think your talking to? Do you think I look like a women?’

I’m sorry if you feel you have to take insults /personal slights with grace and good humour but I don’t.

I’m mostly just trying to make the point that it very well could have been an insult which a lot of people in this thread don’t seem to think could have been a possibility.
