| Comment | Personally I would reassure your friend that what school you go to means fuck all. Whilst these schools may have teachers with greater qualifications, that doesn’t mean they’re more intuitive, affable or indeed better at teaching the same syllabus.
I say this as someone that went to a primary school in a crappy area and high school for 1st and 2nd year until my mum married a guy with some money and I got sent to Kelvinside Academy for 3rd to 6th year.
Obviously if you have learning or other issues you might benefit from a so-called better school but it definitely makes you more sheltered to the real world. And, perhaps paradoxically, there’s a lot more drugs there because they can afford to buy them. |
