I’ve temporarily rented a room in a houseshare in one utterly terrible place, complete with rats and missing wallpaper and exposed wiring. But that was pretty honest about it. I paid low rent, cash-in-hand, and was happy enough. Even considered permanently renting a similarly crap place which the landlord wanted tenants to do up, and he said that upfront and priced it accordingly (but the dodgy plumbing put me off, beyond my DIY skills).

This looks like someone trying to get vulnerable and desperate tenants, not cheap young people or people who will put in work in return for a cheap rented place to call home for a decade. Calling it “delightful” and “family-friendly” is some cheek.
