Hey you, you are not alone! So proud of you for getting yourself out there. Honestly go to polo! I’ve been a few times but I don’t drink anymore. I noticed that there does seem to be people there on their own too but I had assumed it’s because they are in the closet.
I don’t drink anymore and nightclubs honestly seem like my worst nightmare. I’d noticed that there are a few non-booze events that might be worth checking out. There’s a weekly event called Pride in the Park in Pollok Country Park, a LGBT+ history walking tour being launched and also Mardi GLA coming up next weekend (easier to be alone in a crowd!)
Maybe worth giving LGBT Health Scotland a buzz too to see if they can link you up to good events that are easier to meet people in too. They helped me massively when I came out in my late 20s. They are great people and will know much more than I, I think their helpline is open two evenings a week so check their website! Sending you love and hugs 💞
