The original 1975 paper that popularised both those terms was titled "Climatic Change: Are We on the Brink of a Pronounced Global Warming", in fact, "Climate Change" had been used in the scientific community since 1956.
The media latched on to the last phrase and have only recently started changing which one they use at the exasperated urging of scientists. |
