Really, I woulda said the airspace around Glasgow would be pretty tightly controlled, approaches to the airport and heliports etc. They might be given free reign in large military zones in the Highlands or lake district otherwise I think they're on a pre agreed flight path or at least told to fly within certain corridors at certain heights.
