Personally I wouldn't be rushing to live in Govan. West End is decent but well over priced. South Side seems to be the place to be at the moment, plenty of good bars, restaurants etc. There are too many small areas to mention over there but Shawlands is the most popular. Dennistoun is also fine and has a good mix of professionals, hipster types and proper east end of Glasgow people.

I'm in Rutherglen like the above poster, it's not as cool as the above places but you do get much more for your money when buying or renting. No artisan bakeries or micro breweries though, just a normal working class area. The train into the city centre is only 6 or 8 minutes and the bus is about 20 minutes so all good.
