| Comment | I furnished my flat for under £500 through Gumtree and charity furniture shops. The ones on Dumbarton Rd are the best. The only things I spend proper money on was my sofa and an armchair as I wanted quite specific things. As long as you're willing to do some minor repairs, sanding, polishing etc. you can get some amazing stuff second hand. I'd recommend starting looking now so that if something good comes up you can just get it. Most charity shops will also deliver for a fee too so it's ideal for bigger items. |
