Comment | It's been like this for decades now - it tends to come in waves. I'm about ten years off the party scene now but have plenty of similar stories to yours - my social group lost three in as many months one dark winter in the noughties. I worked in bars for 20+ years and by the end of it I was routinely shocked by the kinda folk going to the bogs in pairs and coming back with crusty noses talking rapid shite - it seemed to be everyone and their da - literally - was on it. I think it goes hand in hand with drink in Glasgow, which obvs has historically been a massive problem, and ching just enables them to drink more for longer. Prohibition is why we have all those manky ching dealers who think they're fucking Tony Montana. I personally think mental health care (or the lack of it) is at the root of the problem. |
