He's not wrong, a limited knowledge of the city will tell you about the massive wealth built off the 18th century triangular trade network, Robert Burns was even going to work as an overseer in a Jamaican slave plantation. The Clyde was literally terraformed due to trade generated to accommodate more cargo ships. People from Glasgow have such a massive chip on their shoulder about Westminster but are completely ignorant of the history of their own city, astonishing. Check the street names for a start.
