| Comment | I made an ad looking for a flat where I straight up said I had cats. I was contacted by a landlord who was down and likes cats and thats where I am now. It doesnt hurt to answer ads that say no pets and ask if they would make exceptions, as sometimes they just say that but change their mind, or are more concerned with damage due to dogs. I also think you may have better luck with an unfurnished flat, as with furnished flats there may be more concern with cats scratching the furniture. I agree you may have better luck with a private landlord.
Letting agents and private landlords alike can sometimes take you for a ride, so i recommend joining the tenants union Living Rent. For a couple of pounds a month they will have your back if anything goes sideways. I will never rent without being in a union. |
