You got back in time and you stress test your connection good and early. This gives you and the operator plenty of time to sort the links out.
For site WiFi, you can set up a few external APs (wired or mesh) and then run normal contactless over that. Investment? £5k is more than enough. It's not ricket surgery. Hell, there's places will come and do it for you.
The only silver lining I can see for us is that they may have worked the kinks out by tomorrow.
