| Comment | If you're renting, take photos of everything in the flat, you'll need this to fight the estate agents (who act blind when you move in but eagle eyed when you leave).
Check where the water and gas shut offs are and be sure you can switch them off now before it becomes an emergency.
Check your boiler works before it gets cold. Check all fire alarms and co2 detectors work.
If you're renting check that the electric eicr and gas safety checks are up to date.
If you've bought (or are renting on the top floor) do a reccy of the roof, fix or report any broken or slipped slates. Check and clean the gutters (or report of the gutters are full of plants). Better in the rain so you can see if they are leaking. Again best before the water is pouring in. |
