Comment | It's a warning call, they do this to warn other squirrels about a threat in the area, usually a cat. It's not you - they're not particularly scared of humans. Or at least the ones I hand-feed nuts to and tickle behind the ears in my garden every day sure aren't.
Before anyone starts with the 'invasive species' crap, it's hardly their fault they're here, they didnae make wee mad grey squirrel boats and travel across the ocean all of their own accord. Humans are the only truly invasive species! |
