This thread is a revelation to me. I have travelled the world solo, thought nothing of hopping onto a train in Japan or a bus across Norway, but negotiating my way between home and work now the trains have been cut to one an hour has just been beyond me. I have lived in Glasgow all my life but read every one of OP's questions and thought, "I'd like to know the answer to that".
Sometimes I take the bus home after a night out if I don't feel walking would be wise, and have enough Dutch courage to negotiate the system. At least with contactless payment you don't need a range of coins to provide the money for the exact (secret until you get on and ask) fare. |
