This isn't really a debate about whether capitalism is right or wrong, but it isn't working. That seems clear to me at this point in time. How do you fix the problems of capitalism? Who is going to do that? Who is going to take on the oligarchies and huge corporations? Not the government, not in Britain or America, or anywhere, it seems!

I'm not suggesting a change in the system because it's 'what I feel like'. I'm saying this as someone who has been a nurse for many years now and who is now working in a system where there are people waiting for weeks and months for a social care package to be put in place. People are dying while waiting, with no-one to care for them. That may be due to Brexit, but I think that it's likely that a huge part of the problem is that people just aren't paid enough to do that kind of work, and they are not valued enough by the people who employ them. I've been there, earning 6 quid an hour with no nightshift enhancement, no sick pay, no overtime pay. Maybe they're all going to work in M&S, I dunno! I think that's pretty fair justification for hoping that there could be an alternative out there, and the comparison with Brexiteers is just silly!
