I agree with most of what you've said. However, having been living under a Tory government that I did not vote for for many years now, I do feel helpless! I'm sure many people do. Being politically active and educating others and submitting to democracy is a good idea in theory, but again, doesn't do much good when things are at a crisis point and something radical might be needed?

I would certainly say that setting up a small co-op, in a single area of a city, to provide a particular service and meet a particular need, is an incremental change that could incrementally improve society :)
