I don't know that that's necessarily true. I don't think a co-op that was about providing social care would have to be charging rock-bottom prices in order to get any business. I think we are moving more and more towards a more conscious society in which people are willing to pay a fair rate for a good service provided, and to support local, independent businesses. There doesn't have to be a middle man with whom you're trying to get business from, you could get it directly from the person who requires the care.

Yeah, the point is that there are no big bosses taking huge wages, and no shareholders bleeding the company dry. Everyone is paid a fair wage for the job they do, filling an unmet need, and hopefully providing a good, valuable service.

It's a bit of a dream but I don't see that it's crazy and couldn't work.
