| Comment | Yeah you still have to apply for the exemption, then the university usually confirms electronically with the council. It is a pain, I also had a situation where I was liable for council tax over a summer between 2 different courses. At the end of the day I couldn't find a way round it, unless your in a position to claim housing benefit, you probably need to pay it. You did the right thing though from a legal stand point |
