| Comment | Plan is for some of the existing suburban lines to be converted to light rail (trams, basically, or at least something closer to lighter subway-style trains than regular heavy-rail trains). Lighter trains = faster acceleration profile = more trains per hour = moving more people in the same amount of time.
Makes sense to be honest, at least for the suburban lines that are creaking past capacity already (Cathcart Circle for one). |
