Largs is nice. Direct train from Central. Quite a nice train ride. Fish and chips at The Fish Works in front of the sea, ice cream at Nardini’s and if you want to make a real day of it grab a 10 min ferry for a few quid return to Millport (just remember to take some cash for the bus at the other side) and grab a pint at the pub at the end.
