Comment | This is over simplified, but I get the impression that Glasgow Council has been stuck in some kind of perpetual austerity since the global financial crash of 2007-2008. I genuinely struggle to think of a 'success story' where residents have collectively benefited from a council initiated project. All of the money and effort gets diverted towards fighting fires (often literally) and mopping up the fallout from poverty and addiction. I feel that as a society, we can never move forward. |
