I live in cessnock! Admittedly I've never lived anywhere else in Glasgow but I quite like it. Midway to basically everywhere I want to go, good transport links, lots of local shops and parks close by. Rent's reasonable too.
I wouldn't go out at night but I think that's small village to city fear more than it's a really dodgy area.
