| Comment | You are right about them being paid more than other public sector workers, but this all comes down to having a decent union. The RMT secured pay rises in line with inflation post financial crisis, where as many other sectors were unable to and essentially had a real terms pay cut each year for 10 years after the GFC. This has resulted in RMT members appearing to be better off but the reality is they have just been keeping up with inflation. |
